A Year in Review
Davante Adams and Kardiac Kids take the crown
Coach Dan Leslie took on all comers this season, and had what it took to prevail. Kardiac Kids finished off 2021 with a 148 to 118.22 victory over 2K, giving them a 10 - 7 final record. Their good standing can be attributed, in part, to their wide receivers, who ranked 2nd in the league.
When it came to wide receivers however, nobody had a better group than 2K, who got 40.12 points per game out of the position. Meanwhile, Coach Brent rose could only dream about good wide receiver play this year, as Rosies Riders' wide receivers were the worst in the league, coming up with only 22.33 points per game. Robby Anderson shares a big part of the blame for that lackluster group's performance, averaging 5.4 points in his four starts for Rosies Riders this year.
While Eddie Brocks didn't win that positional battle or the overall crown, Coach Luc Richard did earn a nice consolation prize: the award for best coaching this season. Their lineup moves were 52.1 points better than the experts this season, which was the best mark in the league. That was 99 points better than Coach Geoff Bourgeault, who were the worst coach in the league. They ended up costing their team the game in week two with their lineup decisions, which were 27.9 points worse than the experts that week.
Coach David Kossatz's decision-making was pretty decent this year, but it didn't matter. DaKozyBears wound up at 4 - 12, good for the worst record in the league. The fact that DaKozyBears had the 3rd hardest schedule this year (measured by points against) certainly had something to do with that.
Fizz Out

As Coach Carey Belyea wonders why It Ertz when Eifert failed to make the playoffs, he will have to think about weeks 1 to 6 when It Ertz when Eifert looked like the worst team in the league. They went 1 - 5 over that unhappy stretch. Myles Gaskin should shoulder much of the blame, doing 23 points worse than the average running back while in the starting lineup during that span. It Ertz when Eifert finished the regular season with a 5 - 9 record.
Leader of the Pack

'There can be only one.' This season, that was Kardiac Kids. They finished off 2021 with a 148 to 118.22 victory over 2K, giving them a 10 - 7 final record. Davante Adams contributed 25.1 points in the big win.
Even-Keeled

It was all for one and one for all with Eddie Brocks this season, as they ended up with the most balanced lineup in the league. Unfortunately, this was more due to their top players not doing so well. Mike Williams, Nick Bosa, and Adam Thielen posted 63.9 Points Vs Positional Average (PPA) while in the starting lineup this year, one of the worst marks in the league. Their next three best players, Matthew Stafford, Taylor Heinicke, and Zane Gonzalez, finished up at +30.4 PPA.
On the Hot Seat

There's always next year for Coach Kossatz. This year, however, DaKozyBears wound up in last place in the overall standings at 4 - 12. Coach Kossatz can only blame themselves as they forgot to set their lineup 2 times this season.
Second Fiddle

2K came so close and yet were so far, winding up in second place. Their season closed with the sour note of a playoff loss to Kardiac Kids, but overall they did well enough to end up with a 10 - 7 record. Coach Vedran Radojevic had a hand in the impressive record, since they were the 4th best gameday coach in the league.
Mirror Mirror
Key Stat for Rockland Eagles: Record When Tyler Lockett Overperforms: 3 - 1 Record When Tyler Lockett Underperforms: 2 - 6
There was no better indicator of Rockland Eagles' fortunes this year than the performance of Tyler Lockett. Rockland Eagles looked unstoppable when Lockett topped his projections, and hopeless when he didn't. Coach Jean Goguen could have used a lot more good efforts from Lockett, as they closed the season at 8 - 9.
Stacked
Key Stat: Average RB Points/Week: 29.8 Urine Trouble RB Points/Week: 40.1
Urine Trouble got big efforts from their running backs, who put up a best-in-the-league 40.05 points per game. Leonard Fournette was the key member of that stalwart corps, scoring 182.8 points for Urine Trouble this season. Urine Trouble ran their way to a 10 - 4 regular season record.
Work Horse
Key Stat for Pigskin Wizards: Average Tight End Points Per Game: 9.2 Mark Andrews Points Per Game Started: 14.3
Pigskin Wizards leaned on Mark Andrews all year, as he was the league's best tight end, scoring 235.1 points. Andrews' best game came in week five, when he put up 36.2 points in leading Pigskin Wizards to victory over Rosies Riders. In part because of his efforts, Pigskin Wizards wound up in 2nd place during the regular season with a 9 - 5 record.
Roster Hole

Rosies Riders struggled to find the right mix with their wide receivers, who averaged only 22.33 points per game. That was worse than any other team this year. They ended up costing their team the game in week two with their lineup decisions, which were 27.9 points worse than the experts that week. Overall, CapCity Dragoons finished in 9th place during the regular season with a record of 6 - 8.
